how would you describe your wedding to someone who was not there? what were some of your inspirations? how did you envision the wedding prior to your special day?
sweet, elegant, and romantic. those were always the words i thought of when i pictured our wedding and reception. i drew inspiration from having a traditional wedding with little details of florida and tampa incorporated into the wedding. it’s so hard seeing the big picture when you are planning all the details. i first envisioned lots of greenery and white flowers galore but decided to add more color into the decor and really loved how it turned out.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
one thing i would have done differently is considered hiring a videographer to help capture different moments of the day!
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
getting a great photographer, florist, and day of wedding planner was most important to me when planning my wedding!
what was your biggest wedding day savings?
flowers, dress, and photographer!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge?
definitely the photographer and hiring a car service for transporting the bridal party!
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding?
get ready to “plan, plan, plan. wait a few months. plan, plan, plan. then repeat!” which was stressful especially since i planned everything while living in denver. Remembering to rely on my friends and family when I needed help was so important when it came to wedding planning and really helped me enjoy the experience.
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
despite how hard it is to plan a wedding from another state, surprisingly there was nothing unexpected. referring to some of my vendors for their professional opinion when picking out certain things helped immensely!
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
getting to see the ballroom completely decorated before guests were seated for dinner our event planner made sure we had a sneak peek and it was breathtaking seeing all the planning and little details finally come together.
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
oh gosh, where to start! the whole day felt like an out of body experience in the best way possible. besides seeing all of our family and friend, my top two moments were walking down the aisle with my dad and then exchanging vows with curtis. walking down the aisle in the church i grew up in was a very special and surreal moment. then exchanging vows with curtis was indescribable. it felt like it was just the two of us in the whole room and i loved the wonderful emotion we both felt from each other as we said our vows.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
we both loved our first dance. but most importantly we will remember all of the love and overwhelming joy we felt from our family and friends as we celebrated our marriage.
… how it all came together…
