(this is beaver damage. they introduced beavers here from canada in the 70´s or so, and guess what…. bad idea… duh.)
the ride ended at a cabin in the woods where wine, water, and food was waiting.
lunch began with a plate of salami, olives, and cheese, with french bread for a starter while the guides grilled up lunch.  next came a simple salad, and then the main course, a hot, grilled sausage sandwich.  really good, and really filling.  and while we were all sitting at the table full from lunch and chatting, out came beef.  (we should have known)
apparently the sausage sandwich was just another lead up to the real main course, the beef.
so we ate beef too… and then also the brownies the came afterward.
we were incredibly full afterward and didn´t eat again until the next day.
also, whenever we refer to this meal now, we just say Meat Fest 2010.
after the tour we went to the museum in town which is located in the old prison.

where we saw this canoe…

which had this caption (i took a picture of the sign… but the dumb thing won´t upload… no idea why it is the one and only picture that refuses to upload, but this is exactly what it says…):
The size of this canoe was taken from that one used by Captain Weddell.  Now it is a bit shorter because it broke several times during navigation and carrying it.  Also because we didn´t know how to do one and how to take care of it.
oh, hi
