i did not do a thing halloween-y yesterday except eat my halloween cookies.
a few days ago, my friend anne, cookie-decorator-extraordinaire, hosted halloween cookie decorating 101.
she and her mom, sue, invited me, my mom, my aunt conchita, and two other friends, amy and marcie, over to learn how she outlines, floods, and decorates her cute cookies. she did all of the work, making hundreds (literally) of cookies and preparing all of the icings and we just got to try our best to make cute cookies.
we all thought they turned out pretty great. and even though i made fun of my mom’s cookies the whole time, she took hers to work and said they all got gobbled right up! meanwhile, i took some of mine to dinner at my in-laws and no one touched them. hah. at least not in my presence. then, i packaged up a bunch for michael to take to work with him today and he forgot them all on the table. fail.
so, maybe my mom wins cookie decorating by default??
here is anne (the hostess, on the left) and amy at work:

(p.s. when i brought my cookies home and michael looked at one of the witches hats upside down he asked why we had made thong cookies. haha.)
