we’ve spent every spare moment we’ve had the past four days working on the condo and every muscle in my back aches!
but the difference a few coats of paint makes is worth the effort. remember what it looked like just a few days ago?! muchhhh better.
we painted almost all of the walls a light, mellow yellow (behr’s yellowstone, to be exact) and all of the trim and ceiling a crisp white.
it just makes the whole place look so much brighter and happier and cleaner (even though it’s definitely still a mess!). also, i realize that the paint color looks different in almost every one of the images above but, frankly, it’s 1am, and i just have no desire to color correct these photos. i think the color is most similar to the first and last photographs above, in case you care.
anyway, we also had an electrician come to install recessed lighting in the living room, ceiling fans in the bedrooms, and switch out the pendant light in the dining room.

we love seeing such dramatic progress but there is still a ways to go, even just in the painting department.
for one, we still have to pick a color for the kitchen (such a small little bit of wall – so i really want to go DARK… but we’ll see. i’ll probably chicken out and/or get vetoed by michael) and we need a color for the bathroom too. plus, of course, there’s still some little touch-up things to tend to.

oops!! my fault. amazing what a mess a tiny little jar of black paint can cause in the blink of an eye and a wave of an arm…
tomorrow we get new carpet in the bedrooms installed and the best news of the day was that our kitchen and bath cabinets should be in by tomorrow. so, maybe we could possibly have them installed by the end of the week! fingers crossed.
we are really looking forward to saying so-long to the current kitchen.
