… insights from vicky …
how would you describe your wedding to someone who was not there? what were some of your inspirations? how did you envision the wedding prior to your special day?
Our wedding was a perfect blend of elegant and modern, using colors of gold, navy, mercury and coral. We love simple designs with unique twists, no frills or fuss. To simply put it, it was the most enchanting day ever. The weather was gorgeous, the sun was shining, and the people were having a great time. Even though we had the entire Powel Crosley Estate, it was an intimate and beautiful night filled with lots of love.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
Yes, I wish I didn’t fixate on every little detail. In reality yes, details are important, but most of your guests will not notice them. I would say the most important thing to remember about planning your/my wedding is that it’s about celebrating you and the love of your life and not about what your wedding favors say.
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Photographer (Marissa Moss), DJ (Jacob Towe), and Catering (Michaels on East)
what was your biggest wedding day savings?
Wedding Party and Family Gifts, we were able to find great and meaningful gifts without breaking the bank. Etsy is amazing for these items, but do your research you can find great wedding gifts for a reasonable price using amazon, macys, etc.
what was your biggest wedding day splurge?
Catering (Michaels on East), we are big “foodies” and we wanted to make sure we had the most delicious food as well as top of the line service. Michaels on East was worth every penny, all of our guests raved about how amazing the food was and how superb the servers were. We couldn’t have been happier.
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding?
It goes by so fast, enjoy every second of it, it your day!
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
Ordering way to many save the dates. Make sure you count couples/families as one, and then individual guests. We accidentally counted all guests, oops!
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
Just how fast everything goes, I mean both of us felt like the whole night was done in 20 minutes.
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
Dancing with our parents, it meant a lot to both of us as well as our families. Also, our private last dance before we did our exit, it was beautiful and it gave us both a chance to soak up the entire night and enjoy being in each others arms.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
The wonderful looks on our faces when we saw each other for the first time during the ceremony. Also, how happy we both were the entire night, we couldn’t stop smiling.
