finally, the parade!
it was kind of like tampa´s gasparilla, but more dangerous, less organized, and more confetti.
this was the float the kicked it all off.
yes, it´s a fruit and vegetable truck.
the girls dancing around it are holding produce crates and instead of beads they were throwing peaches to the crowd (note the guy in the bottom left of the frame). i was sold.

the parade goes on without any kind of barricades to keep the crowd back. in fact, it´s pretty much a free for all, and i think anyone that has a pair of homemade stilts at home, or a skimpy and sparkly outfit, can join in.
also, most of the people on stilts were children!
scary, right?!
and what could be more dangerous than walking around on stilts?
maybe dancing around barefoot through the entire city?
