we are back in the land of connectivity in bariloche, argentina!!
i have so much to post, but i´m going to be really annoying and break the cities in to separate entries and schedule them to post over the next few days.
i have lots of time right now since michael is at the hotel trying to shake off a migraine 🙁 and i may not have time over the next few days so this way the posting will be a little more spread out.
so, come back over the next couple days for more!
first things, first though… the dogs (and such).
i told you in the last post we´ve been naming and loving and sometimes crying for the strays around town. some of them are loving their life on the street. they get to do whatever the heck they want, whenever they want. but some are far, far too thin and some get kicked (sometimes hard) when they are in someone´s way or poking around someone´s dumpster, and some are just DYING for attention and love. these last sort will follow you for many, many blocks just because you gave them eye contact so maybe you will pet them and maybe you will feed them. they become attached to you in an instant, and at that point, they need a name because they are our dog, if only for an hour.
so here are some of the many dogs we´ve taken a liking to.
this is puddles. toooooooo cute, right?
like, literally, almost too cute. kind of sickening.
this is glacier, who michael treated to a steak dinner with fries (leftovers).
glacier was alllll for steak and fries.
and then, there was lamb.
normally, i am the one who is petting all the strays and michael HATES it (i know i shouldn´t. i do really know that. but i ask them if they have rabies first and so far they´ve all told me `no`). but michael and lamb had an immediate bond. they were in love with each other and he pet her and pet her and pet her. she was the happiest, happiest little girl! she also had an ADORABLE litter of puppies.
here, michael is scratching her chin and her eyes are closed and she is just in heaven.
speaking of lamb, she was living outside of the same house/shack (meaning lamb wasn`t really homeless… but as far as i can tell all dogs live outside here, even if they have owners) as this little lamb whose name is empanada (for reasons i won`t get into, but you can likely surmise).
really, really sweet.
and this is quite unrelated, since this little guy wasn´t even granted a name, but this is a baby goat (which i think is a kid, right?).
love.
