… insight from taylor …
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
the most memorable moment of the day was definitely when the doors opened in the church and i saw billy and all of our family and friends. with all of the planning that went into the day, i never could have imagined or planned how perfect that moment would be.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
even though it was very time consuming, it was all worth it. i wouldn’t have changed anything!
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
obviously photography! billy’s dad’s favorite hobby is taking photographs, so i knew we would need the best for our big day. i also loved my day of planner, laura walsh. she made sure every detail was perfectly executed, and made everyone feel calm while doing it. our florist, botanica, couldn’t have done a better job. i know you only said three, but i can’t leave out our videographer, tim. he’s already provided us with a preview of our wedding video, and it is amazing!
what was your biggest wedding day savings? (and was it worth it?)
i think we saved a good amount of money on the wedding cake, which we ordered through publix. it was 100% worth it. publix can do no wrong in the cake department!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge? (and was it worth it?)
having such a large wedding was a splurge, but it was absolutely worth it! billy and i loved seeing all of our family and friends in one place.
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding? (and did you listen?)
to get a day of planner. and yes, i listened and got the best (laura). just hours before the ceremony, one of the groomsmen couldn’t’ find his bow tie. without even flinching, laura went to her house, got her husband’s bow tie, and brought it back to the groomsman to use. this was just one of the many incredible things she did to make sure everything went smoothly.
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
yes- how time consuming and stressful it was. but it was all worth it!
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
i’m surprised how fast it went by. i woke up the next day and wanted to do it all over again!
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
i will remember the love and support we felt from all of our family and friends who made the journey to celebrate with us.
