we are now in mendoza and SO freaking hot!!! the current temperature is 104 degrees! and it´s 6pm!
for the whole first half of the day we kept trying to talk ourselves into sucking it up and telling each other that we are just being such babies that have been away from florida and in temperate los angeles for too long…
(this was before we realized it is actually scorchingly hot, and not just in our heads)
but we have finally succumbed to the heat and said “uncle”.
we´ve spent most of the day sitting in whatever a/c we can find. the coldest spot we´ve found so far is this internet cafe we are in right now. and this is our 3rd(!!) internet cafe break of the day. but seriously it is SO hot!! have i said that yet?
so, we leave, walk around a bit, find a bench in the shade, eat an ice cream or popsicle, watch the people swimming in the public fountains (both kids and adults), see that no one can walk any faster than slow, and then give up and head back to this room which is the only place in mendoza we´ve been able to sit without sweating!

we were talking the other day about how his long hair and beard are such physical proof of our time we´ve been away. then micahel commented that it´s weird that when he lets himself go he looks so different, but when i do, i look the same.
not sure if this was an insult of a complitment….
