…insight from stacey…
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
My whole ceremony. It was beautiful, perfect and filled with love.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
The reception centerpieces were antiques and skulls from our own collection. I wish I had packed them a little better because some of them got damaged in transit.
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Marissa, the Columbia restaurant and the Italian club. I would recommend all of them very highly.
what was your biggest wedding day savings? (and was it worth it?)
My best friend and maid of honor made or cake for us and everyone raved about how beautiful and tasty it was!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge? (and was it worth it?)
Our biggest splurge was definitely beer and wine for the reception. It was worth it since the restaurant was very fairly priced on the food and I would not have wanted a dry wedding.
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding? (and did you listen?)
Relax and take time to enjoy everything. It goes by so quickly once it starts and if you get too stressed about the little things, you won’t have time to relish each precious moment. Everything will work out and everyone will have fun as long as you do. I did follow this advice and found it to be very wise.
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
My brother in law (best man) and his wife and daughter (flower girl) were unable to make it to the wedding because she went in to labor with their second child. We missed them but shuffled people around and had a good time anyway.
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
My husband couldn’t stop crying before the ceremony or during! It was very touching and I love him even more for it.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
The ceremony. Everything from the lighting to the music and the love filled words spoken by our officiant (a close family friend) were so perfect and memorable I hope I never forget it.
