so october is here and even though today was hot and it probably felt a whole lot hotter than the summer of other locations, for us, we can tell that summer has passed and fall is on its way.
but, since i am so very behind in blogging, here are some images from a very summertime evening we had back in july!
my cousin, shandra, was in town with her boyfriend, tom, and in efforts to keep them entertained and send them home with something to say when asked, “so what did you do in florida?”, we headed to clearwater with my mom and her boyfriend, jim, for an outdoor movie spread out on blankets and pillows in the grass.
in honor of the occasion, michael even decided to match his shorts to our blanket. how festive!
here is shandra, looking out at the beach, sporting her seattle tan, and that is tom behind her (sorry, tom!). i guess it would have been nice to have gotten one of the two of them… but i didn’t. :/
and, my brother, carson, graced us with his presence as well…
and after having his picture taken, whether he wanted it taken or not (that’s how i roll), he took my camera and decided to turn it on micahel and me. problem was… i think it was a little too much camera for him. hah.
then i decided this would be a perfect time to get a nice picture of michael and i… but i just don’t think that was in the cards. 🙂
(then i started giving carson instructions of how to fix the focus problem… and this just created a problem of it’s own. a problem called, “whoa! ugly face”)
(third time’s the charm? nope.)
(fourth time’s the charm! and by “charm” i mean, “good enough”)
but, all in all, it was a very nice night!
…at least until we got up to leave and i felt so, so, so sick that i couldn’t even walk to the car because i was sure i was going to passout in the middle of the street and crack my head open and be hit by a car. so, i sat on the curb and had the car come to me. and then i got home and felt sick, and then was sick, like, really sick. and then i took a hot bath because i had the chills and was freezing, and this was the first bath taken since we gutted and put our bathroom back together and apparently the plumber didn’t exactly attach the overflow valve correctly, so my bath water ran into our very nice downstair neighbor’s ceiling, which then had to be ripped out (the ceiling, not the neighbor). three plumber visits and a dry wall repair later, and all is well.
but really. except for all that, it was a wonderful summer evening. 🙂
