I generally recommend 16×20 and smaller should be grouped with other pieces (such as part of a duo, trio, or gallery wall). These are not a stand alone wall art sizes unless they’ll be on a small wall, or small room, in your home.
8×10’s are small enough to be placed in a frame on a side table, shelf or mantle. These are a great size for grandparent gifts as well.
If you are looking to order a piece for a specific spot in your home, I highly recommend creating the size you’d like with combined pieces of computer paper taped to the wall beore ordering. You’ll often find that bigger is better with wall art. However, I don’t recommend printing anyone larger than life size. A large 30×40 print works best with an image with lots of backgroud/scenery (and smaller people).
If you need any assistance with specific sizing for your home, I’d love to help. You can send an image of your wall taken stright on and with a piece of computer paper taped to the wall, for scale, and I can mock up your image in your space so you can see just what it’ll look like before ordering.

If you’ll be framing your print, don’t forget to account for the extra size added by your mat and frame choice.
