the weather has been incredibly nice here lately and we took advantage of the very pretty weekend with a picnic in a park downtown, along the river.

mini french bread loaves, a chunk of brie, sausage and peppers sauteed in garlic, fruit salad of mango, blueberries, and strawberries, an apple (for michael, who doesn’t really like mango), and chocolate chip banana bread. and soda for michael, raspberry lemonade for me.
i grabbed everything from the farmers market earlier in day except for the sausage and peepers, which we already had on hand. and, of course, the strawberries in the fruit salad, came courtesy of michael’s place of employment, wish farms. 🙂
we tried to keep the dogs away from the food, but we turned our heads for one second and meeka snatched one of the sausage pieces. and it was SPICY sausage. not sure if she learned any kind of lesson from that experience, but hopefully so!
