i’m here with the promised home tour… although only part 1 of 3 parts!
i somehow managed to take a lot of pictures of a not-very-large condo, so i’m going to break this up a bit. also, i don’t think you could handle all the awesomeness at once. ooooor, mabe you couldn’t handle all of the half-finished-ness at once.
so here are the living room and dining room. although i’d say they are only 60% put together, they are wayyyy further along than the bedroom and office, so i’m not sure if we’ll continue on in here, or move on to make the other rooms more presentable…. or just do little bits of everything at once. the whole place is definitely a work in progress. and although it feels we’ve been living here a while, it’s only been about 5 weeks!
so, this is the view when you walk in the front door, which is right behind me as i took this picture. (i’m really into knowing the layout of a space… hence the unnecessary layout details.)
(now my back is to the dining room and the front door is directly adjacent to the big flower/spirograph wall-art thingies.)
we just found this side table at home goods (which we raided… you’ll see more home goods to come) and i love it so much. it helps me live with the plain ikea coffee table which we swore we wouldn’t buy and would wait to find one we actually liked – and one not from ikealand – but a month later and still coffee-table-less, we folded. 🙁 at least we sprung for the real wood one. do we get points for that?
view of the dining room and front door (p.s. – all of these pictures were really, really quickly taken, and hardly edited. i kinda hate the way they look. you know, just so i’m the one to say it before you think it!)
not that you can tell in this icky picture, but those placemats are a bright green!
ikea shelving because this dining room is so tiny and we needed the most shallow shelves we could find. these are the ikea billy shelves and are only 11-1/2″ deep so we went with them. getting these was SO helpful in storing all of our serving pieces that have absolutely no where to go in the kitchen. (also, i realized i spelled “cobbler” with just one ‘b’. oops.)
lastly, the dining room view into the kitchen. at the end of the hall (with the open door) is the master bedroom, right across the hall from the kitchen is the bathroom, and, to the right of the master, is the office!
i told you, SMALL! and yet… part 2 (kitchen and bathroom) and part 3 (bedroom and office) are to come another day.
in other news, i’m off shooting a wedding tomorrow (sunday) in sarasota!
want to know what one doesn’t want to stumble upon the night before shooting a wedding?
