move night, every night

we have officially moved into the condo… although that wouldn’t be immediately obvious if you were to just walk in and have a look-see.  we still need to get things organized and collect pieces of furniture to replace what was sold or given away when we left los angeles.

so, we are very glad to be in, but are certainly not settled.  also, i’m sure michael won’t feel like he’s truly home until we have cable, but cable won’t come until michael has a job.  i’m sure the day (or minute!) he finds employment he’ll have the cable truck on its way, but until then we are making do with netflix and i’ve actually loved it.  it’s nice to not have the constant drone of the tv in the background accompanying every minute of my home life.

michael likes to have the tv on whether he’s watching it or not, and it literally sometimes makes me feel like i could go crazy.  so, these last five days, our life without cable has been rather peaceful/relaxing/productive for me, but stressful/harrowing/torturous for michael.  right now, as i write this, the only sound in the room is the tapping of my typing on my keys, and the quiet hum of the dishwasher, and the whisper of the air conditioning.  i love it.

as soon as i finish up this post, we’ll dim the lights, curl up in blankets on our sofas (on loan from my dad and the most comfortable couches we’ve ever lived with) and watch the movie of the night: where the wild things are.  : )

also, speaking of netflix…  i made this for you:
