… insights from meredith …
how would you describe your wedding to someone who was not there? what were some of your inspirations? how did you envision the wedding prior to your special day?
Our day was beyond what we had expected – it was more beautiful, fun, love-filled, and memorable than we ever could have imagined. Our families and friends seemed to blend perfectly – most of the people we love in our lives were in one room and it was the best feeling! I grew up in our church and club venues and had always hoped to be married/celebrate there. I wanted a classic, simple, family-oriented, and fun wedding – I think we more than fulfilled my vision.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
Less worrying over the minor details. In the end, everything was perfect to us and all of the details came together.
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Reception venue. Even as a little girl, I wanted to celebrate at TYCC – a place filled with many fond memories. And Christi, along with the entire team at the club, did a fantastic job organizing and running the event!
Photography. As the amateur historian in my family, I needed the best photographer for such a momentous day in our lives. Thank you, Marissa, for being the best!
Flowers. Carmen’s Flowers was fantastic! Carmen completely fulfilled my vision with beautiful, classic floral arrangements, bouquets, and more.
what was your biggest wedding day savings?
I think we saved a lot on our cake by ordering it from Publix. I have always loved Publix cakes and Publix Greenwise did not disappoint with the taste or the beautiful design!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge?
Having the bridal party get ready at my childhood home – Rachel Reumann and her team were wonderful! The bridal party and my mother/mother-in-law felt so pampered and looked beyond exquisite!
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding?
To enjoy the day without worrying about the details and to know that it will go by quicker than you expect. I relished every moment!
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
How many last minute details came to light within a week of the wedding.
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
Despite the advice I received from many, I was still surprised how quickly the day went by!
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
We have so many “favorite” moments – reciting our vows in front of family and friends, walking out of the church to “Ode to Joy” with the church bells ringing, dancing together and with family/friends, listening to the speeches from the matron of honor and Nate’s siblings (in honor of their dad, the best man), and more!
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
The love felt between us and our family/friends who made the journey to celebrate our marriage.
