… post-wedding insight from mallory …
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
The dance floor!
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
We had a sit down dinner but with food stations, so people went around to get what they wanted. People told me that I wouldn’t have time to eat and I didn’t believe them because I always find time to eat. But I honestly didn’t even see the food and I felt shaky by the end of the night from not eating. I wish I had carved out time for us to eat or to at least get a to-go box prepared for us.
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Definitely food, band, and photographer.
what was your biggest wedding day savings? (and was it worth it?)
Not getting a wedding planner. It was fine for me because we were engaged for 2 years and I had plenty of time to plan things myself. But if I didn’t, I might have gone insane trying to juggle work, school and wedding planning.
what was your biggest wedding day splurge? (and was it worth it?)
The flowers- It was worth it but only because we have the photography to remember how beautiful they were!
was there a moment(s) during your wedding day that surprised you?
I woke up with the worst cold and felt pretty bad that day despite having a great time. I recommend avoiding sick people and taking vitamins leading up to the big day!
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
Planning the wedding with our families and having all of our favorite people in one spot for a great time. I picture myself showing the photos to our grandkids and wonder if our clothes and colors will seem out of style to them like my grandparents and parents wedding photos do to me (no offense if you’re reading this mom).
