this last week has been very busy.
michael’s last day of work was on sunday and he is officially unemployed. he is now a full-time stay at home dad to two little dogs and also a professional packer and craigs-list-poster.
i am still working, but not for long. not for long at all… my last day is tomorrow.
i think i am in denial. my desk is not clean, my food drawer is still full of tea and snacks, my pen jar holder contains my chap stick and curel lotion, my phone charger is still plugged in the wall. but today i’ll be staying late to finish up my projects as best i can and get them to a place where it will be easy (… or kinda easy) for someone else in the office to figure out what the heck is happening with them and pickup where i’ll leave off. i’ll also pack up my things tonight. so, maybe tomorrow when i come in and find a clean desk, rather than the explosion of stuff everywhere that i’m accustomed to, it will seem more real. or maybe it won’t… who knows…
michael’s last day of work was three days ago and he still just feels like it’s a normal weekend and he’ll be returning to work shortly. this is despite the fact that his last day was filled with gifts and cards and cake a doughnuts. it still hasn’t sunk in for him either.
it’s all very strange.
speaking of michael’s farewell gifts, look forward to a post about one of his gifts in particular that is completely amazing….
and now, an unrelated picture of downtown los angeles:
