how would you describe your wedding to someone who was not there? what were some of your inspirations? how did you envision the wedding prior to your special day?
It was the perfect day! I felt calm and relaxed the entire time, which I was surprised about. I wanted our wedding to just be fun, that’s all I really cared about. Our wedding planner was amazing and helped with all of the details that I hadn’t even thought about but I just wanted people to have a great time celebrating with us.
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
I really cared most about the photographer and DJ. I had seen Marissa Moss’s pictures and I knew right away that I had wanted her as my photographer. She captured everything perfectly and I knew that if there was one day I always wanted to remember, I wanted it to be this day. Chad Lazzara from Inpulse Entertainment was our DJ. He played the best songs and everyone had the best time dancing with the glow sticks.
what was your biggest wedding day savings?
I think ultimately we saved money hiring our wedding planner, Jessie Wilcox. She knew so many vendors, had so many connections and she knew how to cut costs/stay in our budget without losing elegance. I’m so thankful we had her throughout the whole process.
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding?
There were times I would get stressed out and overwhelmed as there are just so many details you don’t even think about. But everyone would remind me to just enjoy it as it only happens once. I had to remind myself of that a few times, we all have our bridal moments 🙂
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
My bridesmaids had ordered their dresses from a rental website, I wanted them to be able to save as much money as they could. They had all bought the dresses and the company ended up going bankrupt about a month after they had ordered them. I of course freaked out and felt horrible they’d spent all this money already. But they were all amazing and we ended up finding another website (Azazie) that they were all able to get pretty dresses from at a reasonable price.
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
I think my favorite moment was our first look. I had been calm and relaxed the whole day but I was just so nervous and excited to see Kyle. It was perfect and everything I wanted it to be, I was also happy that Marissa captured the whole moment.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
I think I’ll remember how much fun we had with all of our family/friends and how excited I was to marry my best friend, it was the best day of my life!
