remember when i made my brothers birthday cakes earlier in the month? i posted about it HERE.
well, while i was in research mode for those cakes, i came across this insane one:
i found it HERE. the mom/blogger made it for her son, mack’s, birthday. she makes it sound so easy:
“I made a 13 X 9 cake and used it as the base, then googled a recipe for sugar glass and made the sides of the aquarium. The treasure chest is made out of mini Twix bars and for the plant I used green Twizzlers. I suspended Swedish Fish from some overhead paper and voila – one aquarium cake. I have to admit that I didn’t make the cake entirely on my own. I needed Mack’s help getting the glass sides up. Also, after I broke the first couple of sugar glass panels, Mack made some more for me. Thanks Honey for helping with your own birthday cake.”
i think it is so creative! anyways, this is a really random blog post, but i just came across this link, which i had saved, and wanted to share. i think it’s really cool.

today i’ll be beaching it today and tomrorow with michael, my mom, and my cousin shandra and her boyfriend, who are visiting from seattle! i have been feeling weird lately (sore muscles, headaches, tired) so maybe a beach day or two is just what i need. 🙂
