…insights from erika…
how would you describe your wedding to someone who was not there? what were some of your inspirations? how did you envision the wedding prior to your special day?
Our wedding was very simple but elegant. Oxford exchange is a beautiful venue and didn’t require much “dressing up”. Our tables were lined with a burlap runner, flowers were white with greenery. We let the venue speak for itself.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
Erik and I both think our wedding was perfect and turned out exactly as planned. Our vendors really made the difference though. Everyone knew exactly what they were doing, we were just along for the ride!
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
We used our own wedding planner but Sarah and Carolina @ Oxford Exchange we’re instrumental in the wedding day. Honestly, all of our vendors were superb and wonderful to work with. Marissa (photographer) knew all the best places for photos, the DJ had the best selection of music and never missed a beat and people actually thought our cake from handsonsweets was fake bc it was so beautiful!
what was your biggest wedding day savings?
Our DJ Justin from inspire DJ was not only affordable and easy to work with-he kept the night going and all the guests gushed over him
what was your biggest wedding day splurge?
The venue to be honest. We looked at all sorts of venues but I couldn’t keep coming back to Oxford Exchange. Nothing was more beautiful.
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding?
We originally wanted to elope. But after speaking with a bunch of my family, we realized how important it was to celebrate our marriage and do it right. Best decision we made… the planning bonded us closer together and we had the wedding of our dreams.
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
Whatever you think your budget is… expect to pay a little more than you think for everything.
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
No, it went so perfectly!
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
Dancing with my husband. I’ve never seen him so happy.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
I feel like our wedding wasn’t just for my husband and me. I feel like it was a party for everyone and so far the feedback from our guests was that they all had a great time and loved seeing/meeting family, old and new.
