valentine´s day in bolivia

our valentines day was spent in la paz, bolivia and had almost nothing valentines-y in it, but that is okay with us.  we´ll have an extra cheese valentine´s day next year or something. it´s carnival here and craziness. frankly, we are kinda over carnival. this is our 3rd city in a row celebrating their version...

so far, in the countries we´ve visited (argentina, chile, bolivia, and uruguay), it seems the art of window display is treated very differently than in america. these are very typical of the “stuff everything we can possibly find to display in the window and maybe something will catch someone´s eye” approach taken down here:
