…insight from cassie…
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
It is so hard to choose just one! One moment that stands out is when we were announced as we walked into the reception. Seeing our family and friends smiling and cheering for us brought me so much joy and a huge smile to my face. There was so much energy in the room!
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
Looking back, we should have ordered a lot less cake! We ordered just enough for every guest, but the slices ended up small and not everyone ate a piece. We had tons left over and could’ve saved some money!
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
The venue/catering, photographer, and DJ. And thankfully, they were all amazing!
what was your biggest wedding day savings? (and was it worth it?)
We ordered our invitations on Etsy, which saved some money. They were beautiful, but we did have some small issues with the way they were glued together. We also chose to print the outer envelope addresses on our home printer, which was so time consuming and not easy. The invites were worth it in the end, but we should’ve just paid to have the addresses printed.
what was your biggest wedding day splurge? (and was it worth it?)
The venue (The Tampa Club). It was so worth it! We really wanted an all-in-one place (since we live out of state) and The Tampa Club fit that perfectly. Their coordinator, Sandra, was so incredibly helpful and took care of every little detail on the day of. You also can’t beat the beautiful view, great staff, location, and the food was fantastic!
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding? (and did you listen?)
So many people told us to take a moment on the big day to “take it all in.” I think we did that. We had a sweetheart table, so during dinner we were able to just talk to each other absorb the atmosphere. It does go by so quickly though!
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
We were blown away by the speeches/toasts during the reception. The Best Man gave the most heartfelt and emotional speech and we had no idea that was coming. It was great!
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
Having so much fun with Jeff and our guests! I just loved every minute of the day, from walking down the aisle to the last dance. It was the most fun day I have ever had and I didn’t want it to end!
