… insight from britney …
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
We had 2 parts of the day that really stand out to us. The first part, is the special moment we had having a first look. This was special to us because with having a small wedding, it added to the intimacy of our event.
Next, when we left the church in our golf cart. This was one of our favorite moments because it hit us that we were officially married and beginning our life together as we drove off to the reception.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
No, it was exactly how we wanted it!
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Venue, photographer, dress
what was your biggest wedding day savings? (and was it worth it?)
Having a small wedding with 28 guests. It was what we wanted, (we didn’t limit the number for budget reasons) but in the end it saved a lot of money. 100% worth it!
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding? (and did you listen?)
Keep it small and focus on what we wanted for our day- not what would please our guests. All too often, people get caught up and worry about what their guests would like or be impressed by. We listened, and we are so happy we did. The weekend was perfect and our families were so pleased with everything.
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
The difficulty in finding a weekend available at the Gasparilla Inn.
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
The weather, it was cloudy and misty all morning. Out of nowhere the skies turned blue right before it was time for our first look.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
All of it…. how unbelievably happy we felt all weekend, our letters we wrote to one another that we will always be able to read over again as a wonderful reminder of the love we share, how our families came together and bonded ….
