… insights from brianne …
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
I would have hired someone to help. Even if it was someone for the last couple of weeks. It was the small details at the end that I wasn’t as concerned with and didn’t feel like doing but knew they had to get done. I also bought a lot of things thinking I would be able to resell them after and I haven’t had luck in selling them so if I had someone who had connections and could rent things it would have been better.
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Photography
DJ/Lighting
Venue
what was your biggest wedding day savings?
All of my bridesmaids had dresses from rent the runway. They normally retailed for $720 and they rented them for $70 and they were beautiful!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge?
Photography and Videography. I was very picky with those as I knew their products would last a lifetime.
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding?
Don’t stress and live in the moment- your wedding only happens once and you wont get to do it again so enjoy it.
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
Since we rented the bridesmaid dresses there was always a chance something might not work out. The week of my wedding- that Monday one of my bridesmaids got an email that her dress was not going to be available for the weekend. I had to call the company and change all of the girls dresses so that they could all match. They were great and we had everything resolved in an hour with new dresses going out to all of the girls that night. It ended up working out for the better because I ended up liking the new dresses more than the original ones.
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
There was a time when it felt like everyone was on the dance floor. I looked at my husband and we both just stopped dancing, and looked around at all of our friends and family having a great time. You need to take the time to stop and take everything in because the day goes by so fast!
