birthday brothers

my brothers turned 23 today and i just got home from eating pizza with them, a friend of theirs, and michael and a yummy pizza place (cappys).

michael played golf with them this morning while i babysat for a few hours and then began my work day at home. he got home in the afternoon, hung out watching tv while i kept working (although he did move all my work stuff for me into the living room so we could at least be in the same room), and then, the said pizza outting, and now he is over at my mom’s house with my brothers and their friends haivng a poker night. sooooo, i think it might have been michael’s birthday too? hah.

but last night was really the birthday celebration. my mom had our family and a good couple handfuls of friends over to her house for dinner and dessert and birthday song singing, etc.

i had agreed to make them a cake (originally thinking i could do one for both of them) and when i asked what they wanted they said, “one chocolate and one vanilla”… sooo two cakes it was! they also requested one be FSU themed (their alma matter) and one be devil ray themed.

i’m not sure if i was just dying for a valid reason to take a full day off of working or what, but i went all out. also, let it be known that michael helped a LOT! he feels he’s not getting enough credit for how much he did, so i’m here to say, he deserves a lot of the credit!

so, anyways, between cake decorating and birthday dinner attending it was my first full day off since the 4th of july! it was awesome. maybe i should do that more often? but i feel that was enough for a while. i enjoy what i’m doing so it’s not so bad. buuuuut a whole day off from my computer was pretty wonderful. 🙂
