… insight from ann …
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
My favorite moment was sharing my vows with my new husband and listening to the ones he wrote for me. It was a very special moment.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
I wish I had hired a wedding planner from the beginning. While it is doable to do it yourself, I think it would have saved me some stress and money to hire someone from the beginning. I ended up hiring a day of planner 2 weeks before the wedding! Haha
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
The production company, ShoWorks was the major vendor and then obviously my photographer! The Vinoy was also important to us when it came to the food–we wanted to make sure it was all delicious! Ahhh can I say DJ too?! Our DJ, DJ Fresh killed it! Aaaand I almost forgot my hair and makeup artist (I know this is 5) but she was probably top 3 because she made me feel absolutely beautiful and I did not stress about how I looked once!
what was your biggest wedding day savings? (and was it worth it?)
We did a few do it yourself projects, like the programs, table numbers, and escort cards, as well as some signage. They were all definitely a labor of love but they saved a ton of money and we had a sense of pride knowing that we created some beautiful things!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge? (and was it worth it?)
The Edison bulb back drop behind the DJ and stage…totally worth it! It set the mood for the room. I loved it!
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding? (and did you listen?)
Hire a wedding planner–and no I didn’t.
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
Nope!
was there a moment(s) during your wedding day that surprised you?
Seeing the way that the reception site was set up. I let them do their thing and it was beautiful.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
The overwhelming feeling of love from my husband, family, and friends. It was totally worth it!
