… insights from angela …
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
I actually have two favorite moments – I loved seeing Bobby at the end of the aisle because it was the first time I saw him since the Rehearsal Dinner the night before. The excitement of the day was an amazing feeling. And, I loved our first dance as husband and wife. It was to a song I love and it was in front of all our family and friends.
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Photos, food and music were our most important vendors while planning my wedding.
what was your biggest wedding day savings? (and was it worth it?)
My dress! I found my dress at David’s Bridal and it was a steal, I still cannot believe it. It made me feel most beautiful and had everything I wanted in my wedding dress. The fact that it was cost effective was the icing on the cake!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge? (and was it worth it?)
The band! It was very important to Bobby and I that we have great music and we really wanted a band from early planning. We knew it was Phase 5 from the night we heard them at Timpano’s. They were a splurge, but well worth it. Everyone complimented us on the band.
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding? (and did you listen?)
Best advice we received was to take a step back and try and soak it all in because it’s over so fast. We did listen and tried to make sure we did take little moments throughout the night to watch the wedding in progress and take it all in and preserve it to memory.
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
Not that I can recall because I had lists upon lists for planning. I also over communicate (due to my job) so I tried to ask questions and follow up with vendors often.
was there a moment(s) during your wedding day that surprised you?
Yes, Bobby’s best man brought confetti for our day-of coordinator and Oxford Exchange had confetti ready to drop from the upstairs onto the dance floor area at midnight [New Year’s Eve wedding]. I found out about it during our dinner and was very surprised. We had OE’s 100th wedding so they did something very nice for us.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
I think I’ll remember having all those we love in one place, I don’t think that will ever happen quite like that again. I think I’ll also remember smiling and just being overwhelmed with love and happiness.
