last i posted we were in the amazonian pampas in bolivia and had arrived at camp and then headed to the sunset bar that first evening.
day two started out nice and early when we geared up in rubber boots and headed back out into the wilderness to go hunt for the elusive anaconda. since we were there in rainy season, the snakes are quite hard to come by, but we were hopeful.
once we arrived to an area deemed sufficiently snake infested, we hoped off and started wading and looking.
so, basically, we waded around in muddy water, and trucked through head-high grasses and looked for snakes. not, that we could really see much, since our feet were under water and our vision obstructed by thick, thick vegetation…
and then… we found it!!! a 30 foot anaconda!!
unfortunately, it was still a baby, and hadn’t reached it’s full size potential yet…
but one day that will be one big snake. 🙂
proof of larger snakes, not found:
so our morning anaconda expedition, was mildly successful…
on the agenda for the afternoon: piranha fishing.
