what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
My favorite moment was when John and I walked into our reception. It was such a rush seeing all of our friends and family while being announced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Amy and John Vance!! I think the look on my face says it all!

is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
Not one thing.

which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Venue, Photographer, Entertainment….and the Dress.

what was your biggest wedding day savings? (and was it worth it?)
The biggest wedding day savings was not hiring a wedding planner. My Mom and I were very organized and thorough throughout the planning process. Luckily, for me, she learned a couple things through the process of planning my older sister’s wedding. She was truly the only person who saw my “vision”. It was worth it as I believe we did an excellent job! Also, going with a DJ instead of a Band helped lower the entertainment cost. The DJ was able to announce, host, and ensure all our guests were dancing the whole night!!! It was a great decision.

what was your biggest wedding day splurge? (and was it worth it?) 
My dress. Yes, it was worth it. I knew it was my dress when my older sister, Lisa, tried it on three years prior while looking for her wedding dress. When I left the store, back in 2012, I told her, “I am so glad you did not get that Anne Barge lace dress, because it is going to be MY wedding dress one day!” Sure enough, it was! Thank goodness Malindy Elene had the dress and was able to make it fit me oh. so. perfectly.

what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding? (and did you listen?)
Step back, take it all in, and enjoy the moment. Yes, I tried. The entire day is such a whirlwind, so taking time to stop and enjoy is necessary! I am glad I listened.

was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
Things add up fast!

was there a moment(s) during your wedding day that surprised you?
I was most surprised at how calm I was on our wedding day. I felt such a sense of peace, calmness, and excitement as I was about to marry my best friend.

when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
The overwhelming feeling of love from my husband, family, and friends!!
