… insight from amanda …
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
I loved having my dad see me in the hotel room and having a few photos with him. It really hit a heart string and was a special moment for me. I’m also very happy i did the first look with alex as it allowed us to share the moment together and emotions to be free. Lastly walking into the reception and having the entire restaurant clap and cheer was very exciting and unexpected.
is there anything you wish you had done differently when planning your wedding?
We do wish everything had been able to be at one location to keep some of the travel time down but we also loved the places we chose so it was worth it.
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Photographer as they play an important role in the timeline of your wedding day. Also we did not have a wedding coordinator so help from the restaurant manager in decorating the reception was super helpful and very pleased with the willingness to help set everything up. Lastly, hair and makeup. Its important to stay on time for everything and hair and makeup plays into this big time. Also key to make sure you feel beautiful on your big day!! And all the girls looked and felt great!
what was your biggest wedding day savings?
We chose to keep it a smaller wedding which helped on budget and had all our key people there. Also we didn’t want the traditional reception and preferred a more relaxed venue with live music and great atmosphere so super excited we used Ozona Blue it was great!!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge?
We upgraded our hotel room at safety harbor spa for more room which I’m really glad we did but also on the honeymoon. We did all inclusive at Sandals and was the best experience ever!!
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding?
To do it how you want. A lot of people will chime in on what they think you should do but at the end of the day you need to do what you want because its your day and you cant please everyone.
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
Just how quickly it goes. We made it a point to try and take in our surrounding and make time to speak with everyone who traveled to attend the wedding.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
Our first look, walking with my dad down the aisle and holding our daughter up with us during our ceremony.
