… insight from aimee …
what was your favorite moment, or favorite part, of your wedding day?
Finally seeing Stan once I made that turn down the aisle! I was flooded with such happiness. We chose not to do a first look, which I am so happy about. There is nothing more magical than seeing the one you are about to marry for the first time all day!
which three vendors were most important to you when planning your wedding?
Photographer, Videographer, and DJ. I wanted everything to be captured naturally, and I wanted everyone to have the best time dancing the night away!
what was your biggest wedding day splurge? (and was it worth it?)
The biggest splurge was definitely the venue-and it was totally worth it! We wanted to get married somewhere different and unique with delicious food, and a beautiful atmosphere. I could not have imagined the day being anywhere else!
what was the best advice you received when planning your wedding? (and did you listen?)
The best advice I received was to remember that this was our day, and to plan everything the way we want it. There are a lot of different opinions from friends, family, and vendors-so this was hard! But, whenever I felt overwhelmed or conflicted, I remembered this advice and stuck by my own opinion and what was important to us!
was there anything encountered during wedding planning that was unexpected?
There were a couple unexpected moments during the planning-all of which happened within 3 weeks before the wedding! At first, I stressed over them. But then I took deep breath and told myself, “Everything happens for a reason.” When you get that close to the wedding day, you kind of have to accept the changes and know it will all work out.
was there a moment during your wedding day that surprised you?
I was definitely surprised with how calm I was the whole morning and day of the wedding. I was able to just soak everything in and really enjoy all the little details I had spent so long planning come together.
when you look back on your wedding day in 50 years, what do you think you’ll remember most?
Most all of our guests traveled from all over the country to come to our wedding. We were so fortunate that all of our family and closest friends made the effort to be with us that day. When I look back, I know I will remember all the love we felt from the most important people in our lives that day!
